As an educator, student, entrepreneur, mom, and leadership coach, self-awareness is more important than ever. As many of you can probably relate, it can be easy to be consumed with the day-to-day tasks in life and become so focused on completing those tasks that you lose your why. You might begin to wonder if you are just a robot going through the motions of life to get things done or make things happen for everyone else. There are so many expectations that we place on ourselves and others place on us that we begin to believe this is all we are. The truth is, we are so much more.

The process of self-discovery does not end when you find what you believe is your career or completing your family. Self-discovery or self-awareness is a process with no foreseeable end and requires you to MAKE time for you and reflect on who you are, who you are not, and what you are capable of. We all need to own our “shit,” but first we have to know what that “shit” is. If you can do this with grace, specifically showing grace to yourself, even better!

Constant assessment of who we are and where we are in life requires us to own both our strengths and weaknesses and then be vulnerable in sharing them with others. This can lead to new connections or partnerships to ultimately make life a little bit easier!

This is some of what we will start to unpack in my session at Gracefully You!

I am passionate about the possibilities in people and organizations. I want to help you discover your own identity. I believe through intentional leadership training you can create a lifestyle of leadership focused around your authentic self. We can only have continued growth and development if you allow yourself to be vulnerable and accept challenges placed before you.

That’s what I’m here for! I am so excited for the opportunity to challenge you in owning your “shit” and empowering you to take the steps necessary to be the person you were always meant to be!

I recently finished Michelle Obama’s book, Becoming, and these words seemed to fit perfectly into what I want you all to understand. So, consider her words:

It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about where you get yourself in the end. There’s power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s grace in being willing to know and hear others. This, for me, is how we become.

You cannot do everything that is expected of you alone. This is one of the biggest mistakes we all make in life. You have to invite others in after you own your story!

Let’s start or continue (wherever you are at) the process of self-discovery and owning who you really are at the Gracefully You conference session: Gracefully Owning It…all of it!

I encourage you to listen to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle and start to think about what it means to be you! Check it out https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=QSNYvkg8_wI&list=RDAMVMQSNYvkg8_wI
